I haven’t posted – no good excuse.

Yes, I’ve been away. Honestly I thought I had made a post or 2 but it seems I haven’t.

No good excuse, just life. New job, minor surgery, kids, etc. You know all the things that keep a person from their hobbies.

I do sit down and sort through DNA matches, I think I may be on to something on my brick wall line, just not 100% sure yet.

Also, sorting through all the genealogical goodies I brought home from my aunt’s house.

I was sorting through some pictures and found this one.

Jeri's christening 1971
Mary Bolt Lloyd, Susie Alice Lowe Bolt, Jeri (me), My Mom

This is me at my christening (no I don’t remember this day). I’m being held by my Great Grandmother, Susie Alice Lowe Bolt (Mamma Alice). Susie Alice is between her daughter and her granddaughter, making this 4 generations in the picture. Yes, the picture is a bit blurry, I can’t fix that. But wow – 4 generations.

Susie Alice Lowe Bolt was born 1899 she died in 1984.

I remember playing at her house when I was young, heck I have a scar under my eye from sliding down the long central hall in my socks and sliding right into the table at the end of the hall (I was pretending to ice skate). She always had sweet treats for me and a glass of ice cold sweet tea (it was Alabama sweet tea is a staple) and we would sit at the built in booth dinette in her bright pink kitchen and talk. I can still envision that kitchen. I never understood why it was bright pink- all the walls were painted pink, the tile was white and pink checkerboard, and the built in dinette was also painted pink but she loved it and it bings a smile to my face now remembering it (wish I had a picture of it).

Here is to great memories of great grandparents. And a vow to get back on here and post more, I swear I can make the time!
