Yes, I’ve been absent from posting.
I know, I know. Here’s the truth. I’m one of those individuals where if I skip doing something it feels harder to pick it up and get it done. I skipped a blog post and then the next week, I panicked and then it all felt too big to do so I didn’t do it. Are you with me? Then add in vacation, school ending for my child, work and Boom, just a tidal wave of why I couldn’t get this done. Why am I telling you this? Well, because I’m sure I’m not alone in this.
So, on to genealogy:
I have scrolled through and found most of my relatives in the 1950 census. My dad even wrote out a list of street names his grand parents, aunts and uncles, and cousins were living on at the time so I could find them. It was the 1st census my parents appeared on so it was exciting to see them listed.
I have also been outlining more on my Kilgore line – there is a problem somewhere and I can’t quite figure it out – yet! Too many William Kilgores!
Also took a stroll through some early research I had done and realized I don’t have my great grandfather, George W Jones, on the 1910 census. I have his family and he was 19/20 years old, so where is he? I found an individual with his name and correct age in the next county over living as a boarder and working in a cotton mill but I’m not 100% it is him.
DNA: well, I have a plan on researching a particular line but… Yep, 2 other lines keep creeping in and muddling the whole view. Dang early southern settlers. Another reason my Kilgores are giving me a headache.
Now, all caught up and ready to spend this stormy weekend researching and hopefully getting a few more posts written.
